How to Raise Support in Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave

Learn how Support works in Fortune's Weave, how gifts, meals and Stage Shows raise it, why Support matters for recruitment, and what carries across routes.

Support is one of the main gates behind recruitment in Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave. Many optional characters ask for a specific Support level with the hero you are currently playing, alongside a Renown requirement and sometimes an extra quest, item, payment, Paralogue or story condition.

If you are planning a recruit, check that character's page first:

The fastest practical Support loop

The most useful early rule is simple: use a gift to open the relationship loop, then lean on meals whenever possible.

Current launch guides consistently point to these Support sources:

  1. Gifts — useful for starting the relationship and matching a character's preferences.
  2. Meals at the Inn — repeatable and able to raise multiple relationships at once.
  3. Stage Shows — another relationship activity after the theater becomes available.
  4. Other shared activities and combat interactions — useful over time, but usually less direct than deliberately scheduling relationship activities.

Support is global across routes

One of the most important planning rules is that Support progress is global within the save.

If you raise Support between two characters while playing one hero path, that relationship progress is still reflected when you move to another hero path. That makes early relationship work useful beyond the route where you earned it.

This is especially important for recruitment because the required Support level can change by hero route.

For example, a character may be expensive in Renown on one route but much easier to recruit on another. Global Support means you can prepare the relationship before switching paths.

Support does not replace Renown

Support and Renown are separate checks.

A character can like your hero enough to satisfy the Support requirement and still refuse recruitment because:

  • your Renown is too low;
  • a quest is unfinished;
  • an item or payment is missing;
  • a required Paralogue has not been cleared;
  • the character is unavailable on the current route;
  • a story condition has not happened yet.

Use the Renown guide for the reputation side of the system.

A good recruitment workflow

When you want a specific character:

  1. Open the character's page and note the route-specific requirement.
  2. Give the character a gift if needed to open relationship activities.
  3. Use meals to raise Support efficiently.
  4. Build Renown in parallel rather than waiting until Support is finished.
  5. Complete any quest, Paralogue, item or payment requirement early.
  6. Re-check the character before the route or story window moves on.

This is why the site keeps Support, Renown and route data connected instead of splitting each mechanic into isolated articles.

What about chapter replay?

Launch-week testing from multiple guide writers shows that Support behaves as a global value and remains useful across route replays. That makes replay a safety valve for missed relationship work.

Because replay behavior and exploits can be patched, this guide treats replay as a backup rather than the main recruitment strategy.
